Who? : Anthony & Tina
What? : Scottish Island Adventure Wedding
Where? : Isle of Raasay
When? : September 2024
Anthony & Tina live in Washington D.C and had a lovely Town Hall wedding there with family and friends before travelling to Tokyo to have a wedding celebration with Tina’s mums family. Travelling to Tokyo wasn’t enough for these adventure lovers and they decided they wanted to travel with their friends and family for a Highland celebration too! They chose the amazing Raasay House on the Isle of Raasay which is just a short ferry journey from the Isle of Skye.
The views from Raasay back over to Skye are incredible and the backdrop for their ceremony was a major WOW factor! Guests arrived on the Friday afternoon and then made their way to Raasay Distillery where they enjoyed welcome drinks and a buffet which included Salmon, Mussles, Langoustines, Greek salads and Scallops – it was absolutely delish! The morning of the wedding guests enjoyed archery on the front lawn, a tour of Raasay Distillery or a rib tour round the Island where they saw Sea Eagles, Seals, Basking Sharks and Dolphins! The ceremony was outdoors in the Raasay Sunshine and Loch Duich Plants put together the most incredible ground floral arch which was later repurposed for the reception. Guests enjoyed a drinks reception with tasty canapes which were served outdoors on the patio and for the reception the couple opted for a sweet heart table surrounded by the most amazing florals and candles.
I loved spending the whole weekend with Tina, Anthony and their guests but my favourite aspect to their day was the cutting of the cake which took place in the very atmospheric library at Raasay House – they cut the cake with the biggest sword you’ve ever seen!! Furthermore for the evening Anthony and Tina danced a choreographed routine to Jennifer Lopez’s ‘Let’s get Loud’ – they actually broke their ceiling at home practicing for this moment!!! Anthony & Tina’s weekend was filled with laughter, love, happy tears and so many fun moments – I will not forget this wedding for a long time!
