Who? : Jamie & Max
What? : Intimate Glencoe Destination Wedding
Where? : Kingshouse Hotel
When? : October 2025
Jamie and Max first reached out around 15 months before their date. Jamie had spent time living in Edinburgh while completing her master’s degree, and during one of Max’s visits they travelled together to the Isle of Skye and across the Highlands — a trip that sparked a deep connection to the landscape. So when they got engaged, they knew it had to be a Highland Wedding!
It was important to them that their family and friends, all travelling from the USA, stayed together with them and experienced the scenery that had captured their hearts. They dreamed of an outdoor ceremony with a breathtaking backdrop, something quintessentially Highland.
I recommended Kingshouse Hotel in Glencoe, knowing just how extraordinary their ceremony spot is, with Buachaille Etive Mòr rising behind them in all its dramatic beauty. There truly isn’t a more beautiful setting.
Some of my favourite moments from their celebration:
Greeting them and their guests the night before the wedding in classic Highland weather — torrential sideways rain — and then seeing their faces light up the next day when the sun broke through and Glencoe revealed itself in all its glory.
Their outdoor ceremony at Kingshouse was unforgettable, surrounded by sweeping mountains and crisp Highland air, followed by the pure joy of ceilidh dancing with the Glenfinnan Ceilidh Band. It was everything they had hoped for: meaningful, breath-taking, and shared with the people they love most.
