Marlijn & Jens both from the Netherlands have made a lovely home for themselves close to the village of Plockton. It was important to them to give their family and close friends a proper Highland experience. Jens is the local helicopter pilot and Marlijn is the helicopter engineer – Jens had to arrive in style and flew his helicopter on to the castle lawn with all the guests awaiting his arrival – I felt like I was on set for a James Bond film! The whole day was filled with love & laughter and they both had put a lot of thought into the details – The signature Cocktail for the wedding was Champagne , bitters, sugar water and whisky – It was bright orange for the Netherlands of course! Jens had his own kilt made locally in a Dutch Tartan and a couple of local school girls made the amazing cake / sweet treats! Jack their Newfoundland dog was their ring bearer and they said their vows in the quaint castle chapel. A local band provided the music and Scottish dance instructions so that they could all enjoy a Ceilidh into the wee hours!! This is definitely a day I will remember for a very long time…
