Christian & Ruth’s Castle Wedding

22nd October 2017 by Anisha

Who? : Christian & Ruth

What? : Intimate Castle wedding with close family & friends

Where? : Eilean Donan Castle Ceremony & Achmore Hall

When? : July 2017

There are plenty of outstanding venues and locations to choose for a Wedding in Spain, but Christian & Ruth flew over with their nearest & dearest to tie the knot at Eilean Donan Castle!

Ruth is a photographer with a sharp eye for detail – she trusted no one else with her wedding photos other than Fran from Even Pic Photography – He came over with them from Spain with all his equipment which also included a drone. The photos are amazing and the drone turned out to be a great decision, the aerial shots and angles that have been achieved make all the difference! Here are some lovely moments captured from their day…

Nicole & Berto’s Isle of Skye Wedding

26th August 2017 by Anisha

Nicole & Berto’s Isle of Skye wedding

Who? : Nicole & Berto

What? : Outdoor ceremony with close family & friends

Where? : Isle of Skye

When? : June 2017

I am so glad that I got to plan this wonderful wedding for such a lovely couple.  Nicole & Berto came all the way from New York City to marry on the Isle of Skye, and being a part of this was a huge honour.  The couple chose Loch Coruisk as their location – they fell in love with the mystical loch on a previous visit, however, a Plan B had to be quickly organised due to the weather that morning – Nicole’s laid back approach and dare devil side came to the fore when she took everything in her stride changing locations last minute and then decided it was also the perfect opportunity for a spot of rock climbing!

So much Amore for this Eilean Donan Castle Wedding…..

Flaviano & Camilla’s Wedding – Eilean Donan Castle, 23rd August 2016

The lovely couple from Rome, Italy asked me to plan a wedding at the magical Eilean Donan Castle. The bride requested blue hydrangea with Scottish thistles to emphasise the beautiful blue beading in her aunts wedding dress and Floriana one of the Bridesmaids wore her grandmothers amazing green dress. Donald at Loch Duich Flowers did a wonderful job with the bouquet, buttonholes, corsages and Table Centrepiece. The day was full of sentiments and really lovely moments…..

The couple wanted the food to be an important factor to their day as they and their guests are huge lovers of Seafood – Kintail Lodge Hotel was booked for their meal and it didn’t disappoint! Fiona Mackinnon Cakes made a Mille-Feuille cake with Chantilly Cream and Summer Berries as the bride wasn’t a lover of sponge. The couple also had M&M’s as their wedding favours – I love it!!!

What they had to say –

“Anisha is an extraordinary person. She was both professional and friendly at the same time. Always timely, precise and accurate in her tasks and replies. In the end it all worked out beautifully like we hoped. It felt like she was part of the family too. Highly recommended!”

#9 Something Different

29th November 2015 by Anisha

Scottish law allows couples to marry anywhere, even outdoors, as long as the ceremony is conducted by a religious official, registrar or a non-religious Humanist celebrant. In the rest of the UK weddings have to take place between 8am and 6pm, but not in Scotland. Essentially, Scottish law allows you to get married wherever and whenever you want, with that in mind, here are some amazing and unusual locations and ideas that welcome brides and grooms in Skye & Lochalsh…..

Loch Coruisk

The loch is only accessible by boat from Elgol, or on foot from Sligachan (approximately 7–8 miles distance). It is also possible to walk from Elgol, but one section of the path presents some difficulties for the inexperienced. The northern end of the loch is surrounded by the Black Cuillins, it’s a truly magical place and the most amazing backdrop for photographs with the WOW factor!

Sabhal Mòr Ostaig

An iconic institution that is recognised internationally as a national centre for the Scottish Gaelic Language and Culture. The campus boasts a stunning location by the sea with exceptional facilities, accommodation and catering.  There is also an outdoor amphitheatre that seats 200 – the perfect setting for couples looking to take their vows outside.

Dun Beag Broch –

Dun Beag (the small fort) is the best preserved, and the most accessible Iron age broch on Skye. It has massive walls, still mostly intact to more than 2m high. In them you can find lots of detail, including a gallery, the entranceway, a stairway and a security cell.
The views from here over Loch Bracadale to the Western Isles are stunning.

Neist Point –

Neist Point is the most Westerly area on the Isle of Skye with spectacular headland and excellent views out over the Minch to the Western Isles. Neist Point Lighthouse dominates the headland and was built in 1909. The area is perfect for dramatic photographs and is ideal for spotting wildlife and amazing sunsets.

Fairy Glen –

The Fairy Glen is a mystical area near Uig in the North West of Skye, full of stone circles and an intriguing landscape contained in a hidden valley. A romantic little spot with lots of nooks and crannies for photographs with a difference!
