We are extremely lucky to have an abundance of talented musicians in the Highlands, from local Pipers, Gaelic Choirs, Young Musicians at The National School of Excellence in Traditional Music – Plockton, and popular Ceilidh bands Sheepshank Redemption, Skipinnish, Monach Isle Ceilidh Band & The Cast Ewe Ceilidh Band – You are guaranteed the ultimate Ceilidh Experience!
For your Ceremony The Clarsach (small Scottish Harp) is a lovely instrument for performing well known songs, ballads and even hymns. It also works well to have the Clarsach duet with a fiddler, small pipes or guitar and adds a nice touch for guests as they arrive, during the signing of register or background music during champagne & canapé receptions.
It is not always ideal to have pipers at the Ceremony unless you have a special tune in mind, or if a majority of the guests are arriving at the same time (By coach etc.) a piper then can be quite effective for their arrival. A more popular suggestion would be to use the sound of the pipes to announce the arrival of the Bride or to march down the aisle to a tune. It is also really nice to have a piper play when the Bride & Groom and guests are exiting venue after service and works well to have the new ‘Mr & Mrs’ piped to the top table to begin the celebrations.
Ceilidh bands are a great way to get people out of their seats and on their feet! Hugely entertaining, super fun for all ages and will get all your guests and family members to mingle!
